Seattle Indies supports independent game developers. One way they do this is by hosting game jams where participants come together to build video game demos within a weekend. I supported them with event branding and social media assets.
This game jam was their first entirely online event. To emphasize this I took the idea of a video conference call and made it fun with a retro-futuristic vibe to communicate connection, even though everyone was in separate spaces.
Custom end of year thank you message for subscribers to the Seattle Indies Patreon.
This game jam was themed around COVID-19 as the jam was to be held online only for the first time due to the pandemic. To play off the name, Jamming the Curve, I incorporated a representation of the curve of cases and the ideal flattened curve being promoted at the time. The curves along with the shape of the virus create a simple, clear message.
Game for Our Future is a yearly event Seattle Indies participates in among other video game groups. This event's theme was the mental effects of the climate change crisis. I used orange and green to reinforce the new branding for this particular group.
My approach with this design was to capture the idea of limited time in creating games during the event. The sand of the hourglass turn into game pieces inspired by the game Tetris.
