My goal for this illustration was to depict an animal limiting myself to simple geometry. The red-shanked douc monkey was a compelling choice for its distinctive silhouette and coloring. As they are native to Vietnam, I wanted to bring in related motifs. Researching, I found inspiration in Vietnamese Hindu temples.
